About
Alkass Two History, Coverage, Features
Al Kass Two is a sports television channel owned and operated by the Government of Qatar. This channel became the second sports channel under the Al Kass brand after Al Kass One saw the light on April 28, 2006. Al Kass Two would go on to become part of the Al Kass network since its launch.
Over the years, Al Kass Two has been known for airing domestic sports competitions, which makes it quite different from some of its competitors in the region. Disciplines such as football, basketball, and handball have all been covered on this feed, putting to good use its status as a free-to-air channel.
When it comes to football, Al Kass Two has covered local competitions such as the Qatar Stars League, the Qatar Cup, the Qatar Stars Cup, and the Emir of Qatar Cup. Speaking of international football, Al Kass One has included foreign leagues such as the Belgian First Division, the Spanish Segunda División, or the Algerian Premier League. Additionally, continental club competitions such as the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup have also been covered on this channel.
National Team games have also been included in Al Kass’ schedule, with FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches for Asia being aired on this channel, along with games for U-23 and U-17 categories.
Al Kass Two was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed saw the light in 2013, making this the main option to watch its content. A downscaled version of the HD feed may be available for users who do not have access to HD technology.
