Molotov TV, stylized as MolotovTV, is an internet television service that aims to broadcast content for free, via pay-per-view, and via replays. It was created on July 11, 2016 by former television execs from TF1 and Canal+. It is reserved for users who have a French IP address for copyright reasons.
The platform offers different subscription packages to its users, which will enable features such as recording shows, replays, pay-per-view events, and even the kind of format they want to watch, going from a regular HD version or an Ultra HD option.
Over the years, Molotov TV has added channels to both their basic and their premium packages. Those channels have included general entertainment networks, news-focused channels, sports channels, movie channels, and more. Other features included in this service over the years have allowed premium users to record over 150 hours in their personal “cloud”, broadcasting content in up to four devices, and accessibility to the platform’s content from any point in the European Union for French residents.
The service has been available for access on any mobile device working under Android and iOS. Furthermore, the platform has also been streamed via Google Chromecast, on Amazon Fire TV, on Apple TV, and more.
