S Sport 1 is a Turkish television channel owned and operated by Saran Holding. It was launched on March 18, 2017 and has been available on most Turkish pay-tv operators. It was previously known as Sports Smart 2, but that name was changed once the network was acquired by its current owners.
S Sport 1 has made a name for itself by broadcasting some of the most popular sports in the world. Disciplines such as football, basketball, motorsports, American football, athletics, wrestling, and mixed martial arts have found a home on this network over the years. S Sport 1 has shared its content with S Sport 2, an overflow sports channel also owned by Saran Holding.
Speaking about football, S Sport 1 has aired content for some of the top leagues in the world. Such tournaments have included the English Premier League and the Bundesliga, with a certain number of games for each league being aired every week. Added to the content from these leagues, S Sport 1 has also included shows from produced by Barca TV and Bayern TV.
Since its launch, S Sport 1 has aired all of its content via a High-Definition feed.
