Sky Go UK History, Coverage, Features

Sky Go is an online television service provided for Sky TV subscribers. It is owned by Sky Group and was launched originally on January 11, 2006, allowing users to access live and on-demand events on this platform. Users do not need to have a Sky subscription to access the content, since a pay-per-view option is available for non-TV users. For those who own a Sky subscription, the content they will be able to access will depend on the package they are subscribed to.

Sky Go allows users to access content on two devices at the same time, one of them being their TV set and one on a mobile device or computer. Sky Go is available on a number of devices, such as mobile phones and tablets working with Android or iOS, Windows and Mac computers, video game consoles such as PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

In the past, Sky Go has streamed live sports events, which depend on the TV package paid by the subscriber. The English Premier League, The EFL Championship, and more, have all been available to watch on-the-go with this service.

Sky Go is free for all Sky subscribers. However, there is another mobile service called Sky Go Extra, which adds a few more features to Sky Go’s original properties for an extra payment.
