Germany - Bundesliga (2020-2025) Telecoms operator StarHub has acquired multi-platform rights to the German Bundesliga in Singapore. StarHub will air all 306 Bundesliga games every season throughout the period of the deal, along with the relegation playoffs. Over 200 live Bundesliga matches will be telecast on pay television, and on StarHub’s over-the-top (OTT) streaming service for mobile devices. HUB Sports 1 History, Coverage, Features
Hub Sports 1 is a Singaporean television channel owned and operated by StarHub TV. This channel was launched in 2012 under the name SuperSports Arena, but after a brief closure on December 28, 2018, the channel returned under the name Hub Sports 1, becoming the most important channel of the Hub Sports network.
As its name states, Hub Sports 1 has focused on airing live sports events, news, documentaries, and highlights. This channel has made a name for itself by airing content from disciplines such as football, tennis, snooker, athletics, motorsports, and more. Most of the competitions aired on this channel have been from international tournaments, although some domestic competitions may also be available on this channel.
Speaking about football, Hub Sports 1 has focused on covering European tournaments, which have included the German Bundesliga and the DFL Super Cup. Both of those tournaments have been aired as live broadcasts or repeat transmissions over the years.
Hub Sports 1 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed saw the light in 2019 and became the primary option to watch the channel. A downscaled version of this channel may be available for users who do not have access to HD technology.
