About
TFX History, Coverage, Features
TFX is a free-to-air television network from France, owned and operated by the TF1 Group. It was launched on March 31, 2005 under the name NT1, but in order to give it a fresher look it was rebranded to its current name. TFX is considered a general entertainment channel, which is not only available in France, as its signal has been available to watch in neighboring countries such as Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco, and Switzerland.
Over the years, TFX has made a name for itself for their entertainment programming. The channel has aired TV series, Reality TV shows, entertainment programs, and sports broadcasts. Most of the TV series aired by the channel are re-runs from shows produced in the United States, although there have been some in-house productions aired by this channel.
Speaking about sports, TFX has focused its efforts to air football, wrestling, motorsports, and other disciplines occasionally. Football events aired on this network have included FIFA World Cup Qualification matches (excluding games from the French team), UEFA Euro Qualifiers and proper tournament, and friendly matches for European teams excluding the French side.
During the days when it was named NT1, the channel aired its content in SD format. However, a new HD feed was launched in 2015, which means that TFX has always been available in HD. Even so, a downscaled version of that feed is still available in some regions.
