About
TV2 Play Denmark History, Coverage, Features
TV2 Play is an online streaming channel owned and operated by the Danish television company TV2. The Video-On-Demand platform was launched back in the year 2000 and became a subscription service on December 6, 2004, when it was called TV2 Sputnik. Eventually, the service would have its name changed to TV2 Play on May 21, 2012.
Over the years, TV2 Play has provided streaming access to all the channels that have been owned by TV2, such as TV2, TV2 Charlie, TV2 Zulu, TV2 News, TV2 FRI, TV2 Sport, and TV2 Sport X. Added to those, the VOD platform has also made available a number of pop-up channels known as Play, which have been used to stream additional content, such as live sports events. Furthermore, the platform has also added a full on-demand catalog to stream past TV shows and events. Most shows and sports events to which TV2 owns broadcasting rights can be found on this platform, although some restrictions to sports events might apply. Users may watch TV2 Play on different devices at the same time, but the number of those might change depending on the subscription acquired by the user.
TV2 Play has always been available to stream via the most popular web browsers, but it has expanded to other platforms such as mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones that work with Android and iOS, certain Smart TV devices, on Google Chromecast, or via built-in apps found in Smart TV devices.
The published listings of live, re-aired, and on-demand match and program events published on this website are broadcast by the official rights holders.
