Spain - La Liga (2022-2026) Telco company Ziggo has extended its Dutch rights for the Spanish La Liga for three additional seasons. Ziggo’s new agreement with LaLiga lets its linear and digital platforms broadcast La Liga matches live from 2021 through 2024. The Primera Division games will be aired by Ziggo Sport and the pay-TV operator’s OTT subscription streaming service Ziggo Sport Totaal. It was launched on November 12, 2015, as part of the package known as Ziggo Sport Totaal, which has included other sports-specific channels over the years.
Ziggo Sport Voetbal has been considered one of the most popular channels included in the Ziggo Sport Totaal package since it has focused on broadcasting live football games and highlights over the years. Additional coverage on this channel has also included documentaries, sports-related films, and more.
Being a football-specific channel, Ziggo Sport Voetbal has been able to cover international events such as the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and the UEFA Youth League, among others. Domestic competitions aired on this channel over the years have included the English Premier League, the Italian Serie A, the Spanish Primera División, the Belgian Pro League, the Greek Super League, the Portuguese Primeira Liga, the FA Cup, the Spanish Copa del Rey, and the Taca de Portugal, among others.
