Coupe de France Féminine History, Format, Organization, Media Coverage
Coupe de France Feminine is an association football cup competition for French women's clubs. Founded in 2001 and previously referred to as the Challenge de France until 2011, the competition allows for the participation of all professional and non-professional women's teams in France. The knockout competition is jointly organized by the French Football Federation and the regional leagues.
The course of the competition is the same as every single-elimination tournament although it begins with the regional phase and subsequently a federal phase. Clubs from Division 2 clubs enter the tournament at the first federal round and are joined by winners from the preliminary stage. Teams from Division One join the tournament in the round of 32.
Winners from the last 32 progress to the round of 16 and the quarter-final, semi-final and final follow suit respectively.
