The AFC Futsal Championship is the Asian Football Confederation’s premier futsal competition held for its member nations. Founded in 1999, this tournament was held annually up until 2008 before turning into a biennial affair. A total of 16 teams participate, with the contestants being split into four groups of four. The group stage follows a single round-robin format, with the two top teams from each group progressing to the knockout stage. The quarter-finals all the way up to the final are one-off matches.
