The two players who clocked the fastest speed at Euro 2024 could lock horns in the semifinals.

Euro 2024 enters the semifinal round, with France facing Spain and England locking horns with the Netherlands to determine the two finalists. Ahead of those two mouth-watering matches, UEFA released an interesting statistic compiling the fastest players in the competition.

The list, which was posted on the competition's official X (formerly Twitter page), listed the top 10 players with the fastest clocked speed at this tournament. As a result, with three games left to go, this ranking could still change.

Nonetheless, it came as no surprise to see France superstar Kylian Mbappe leading the pack, with the newly-signed Real Madrid star clocking a top speed of 36.5 KM/H. He narrowly edged out Spanish attacker Ferran Torres, who clocked in a top speed of 36 kilometers per hour.

These two Spanish top-flight attackers could cross paths on Tuesday in the Spain vs. France semifinal — though Torres is unlikely to start. With that in mind, fans can expect an end-to-end game in the upcoming Allianz Arena tie.

Third and fourth on this list were split by a 0.1 difference, with Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko registering a top speed of 35.9 KM/H while Germany's Leroy Sane and Romania's Valentin Mihăilă were tied at fourth at 35.8 KM/H.

Mbappe was one of two Frenchmen to make the cut, with left-back Theo Hernandez coming in at sixth (35.7 KM/H). The only other Euro 2024 semifinalist to make the top 10 than the previously mentioned names is Dutch defender Micky van de Ven.

The Tottenham center-back, who made crucial interventions after coming on as a substitute in their 2-1 comeback quarterfinal win over Türkiye, is already regarded as the fastest defender in the world.

The Dutchman registered a top speed of 35.6 KM/H, which was enough to land him joint-seventh in this list alongside Switzerland attacker Dan Ndoye. Denmark forward Rasmus Hojlund and Portugal winger Rafael Leao completed the top 10.

The semifinal round of Euro 2024 kicks off on Tuesday with Spain vs. France before wrapping up on Wednesday with England's showdown with the Netherlands. The winners of these two match-ups will then progress to the highly-anticipated final scheduled for July 14 at the Olympiastadion.
