The Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament has officially been announced, with this dream XI including some expected names but also a host of eye-catching omissions.
To no one's surprise, Spain wingers Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams — the earlier assisted the latter for La Roja's opening goal in the final — took their rightful place in the front three after lighting the tournament up.
Joining the Primeira Division starlets is Jamal Musiala, who scored three goals in the tournament and finished level with Cody Gakpo, Harry Kane, and Georges Mikautadze as top scorer.
Mike Maignan was given the nod in goal, surprisingly beating Georgia's Giorgi Mamardashvili despite the Valencia goalkeeper being a fan favorite for the Player of the Tournament prize earlier on in the competition. France conceded only three goals in this tournament, with two coming from open play — both were against Spain in the semifinals.
Marc Cucurella, William Saliba, and Manuel Akanji took three of the four defensive slots. As for the right-back role, there was a surprise inclusion, with England's Kyle Walker getting the nod over Spain's Dani Carvajal and France's Jules Kounde.
Despite being one of the best full-backs in the Premier League, Walker came under huge criticism for his performance at Euro 2024, with fans holding him guilty for a number of goals England conceded, including the two in Sunday's final.

There was no surprise in midfield, with Spain taking all three spots. Rodri, named Player of the Tournament, made the list and was joined by teammates Fabian Ruiz and Dani Olmo.
Olmo scored in the round of 16, quarterfinals, and semifinals. The RB Leipzig ace could get a big move off the back of this tournament.
