Brasileirao games to watch this week

One more week of action is heading our way in the Brazilian Serie A, with the battle for the top spots getting tougher every week and with those trying to avoid relegation forced to step things up if they do not want to be left behind.

Botafogo step up to defend their top spot in the league, and this time they will have to go the extra mile when they lock horns against Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro, two teams in the upper half of the table. Palmeiras, the current holders of the No.2 spot, will also have to play two matches, one of them facing the struggling Fluminense, and the other at home facing Vitoria. Luckily for them, their chances of success in these games are high due to the ranking of the teams they will battle in coming days.

Former league leaders Flamengo will also want to make the most out of their games this weekend, as they will also face Vitoria. On Sunday, the Rubro-Negro will welcome Atlético Goianense, a team that has lost five in a row in the Brazilian top-flight.

The lower end of the table will also experience some major clashes, with Corinthians vs Gremio being an enticing midweek game, and Criciuma vs Juventude keeping fans a bit nervous when they clash over the weekend.

Without further ado, here is the full list of Brazilian Serie A matches being held this week.
