After an unsuccessful month's pause, which saw all Liga MX teams losing to MLS clubs in the Leagues Cup, all Mexican sides will want to prove their worth when they lock horns against each other in the first full matchday in Mexican football since July.
This will be an interesting week for many reasons, starting with the curious factor to see the league leaders with a new boss, or even if it means the defending champions will look for consistency in their next home game. Added to that, there are four teams level at ten points that could take the top spot by storm, which will make things more interesting for fans and experts.
The weekend will kick off with three games to follow on Friday, but the real treat will come on Saturday with five matches being played. The only game scheduled for Sunday will be Toluca vs San Luis, two teams looking for a spot among the top five.
Here are the most relevant games to keep an eye on.
Top games to watch
Tijuana vs Monterrey - This could very well become the best game of the week, as Monterrey will be playing their first match under coach Martín Demichelis. His first match in Mexican football will come against Tijuana, perhaps the most improved team from last season and who could claim the top spot if they can manage to beat Rayados. What tricks will coach Juan Carlos Osorio hide under his sleeve? We will have to wait and see...

Tigres UANl vs Guadalajara - The gold and blue side wants to earn some redemption following a poor display in the Leagues Cup, and there will be no better way for them to get that than beating Guadalajara, who were unable to win a single game in their Leagues Cup quest. Fernando Gago's men will not be able to see Chicharito on the pitch due to an injury, which will make strikers Ricardo Marín and Cade Cowell key to bring at least one point from the famous "Volcán".

América vs Puebla - The start of the season has not been kind to América, as they lost two games prior to the Leagues Cup and succumbed to Colorado in the Quarter-finals despite being named as title contenders before the competition. Now, Las Águilas will want to go back to winning ways against Puebla, a team that has not been able to beat them since 2018, and who are currently on a 16-game run without a win against América, which includes 13 wins in those games. Puebla's chances will rely on coach José Manuel de la Torre's skills, mainly because the former Mexico tactician has won eight of his 20 games against América.
