The knockout stage of the Copa Libertadores begins this week, and teams from all over South America continue their quest to play the title match at Estadio Centenario in Uruguay.
The group stage concluded with some surprises, which resulted in interesting pairings for this phase of the competition. After the first six games in the tournament for each team, six clubs from Brazil and six more from Argentina will be involved in the Round of 16. The remaining four spots were handed out to two teams from Paraguay (Olimpia and Cerro Porteño), one from Ecuador (Barcelona), and one more from Chile (Universidad Católica.
Things will kick off on Tuesday with three games. The first two, set to kick off at the same time, will feature Boca Juniors against Atlético Mineiro and Cerro Porteño hosting Fluminense. Later that day, Sao Paulo will host Racing Club, two teams that shared Group E and will now fight for a spot in the next round.
Wednesday will continue with four more games, out of which the all-Argentine tie between River Plate and Argentinos Juniors should gather the most attention. The other games being played that day will include U.Católica facing defending champions Palmeiras, Vélez vs Barcelona, and Defensa y Justicia against 2019 winners Flamengo.
Last, but not least, Thursday will only feature one game, where Paraguayan titans Olimpia will host Internacional at Manuel Ferreira Stadium in the country's capital city, Asunción.
